Early in our day of giving, we had the pleasure of meeting Blake. He was the first person to receive one of our care packages, and his gratitude was immediate and heartfelt. Blake was in need of a hygiene kit and his sense of urgency that spoke volumes about his current challenges.
Blake shared that he has been experiencing houselessness on and off for years, working hard to find stability. His goal is to secure low-income housing that will allow him to get back on his feet. In the meantime, he stays in shelters whenever he can find an open spot, navigating each day with hope and resilience.
What struck us most about Blake was his passion for drawing. He shared how art allows him to express his emotions and find peace amidst the chaos. Toward the end of the day, he surprised us with a beautiful gift—he had drawn the projectUmbrella logo for us, a gesture that touched our hearts deeply.
Blake is a kind soul with a pure heart, and meeting him was a truly inspiring experience. We wish him all the best and hope to see him again, following his dreams and sharing his incredible talent with the world.
